You know you\u2019re South African when you find yourself randomly belting out the classic “Bobbejaan Klim Die Berg”. One South Korean man living in Cape Town was shocked to hear himself singing the catchy Afrikaans tune usually reserved for braais and good old road trips.<\/h2>\n

Cape Town, South Africa (22 April 2025)<\/em> – Ever caught yourself halfway through singing a popular song that was so off-brand you had to stop yourself and ask \u2013 why am I singing this?<\/p>\n

One self-confessed \u201cvery South Korean\u201d man shared a hilarious video of how shocked he was to catch himself singing one of South Africa\u2019s most popular and beloved Afrikaans children’s songs.<\/p>\n

MJ Cho<\/a> shared a video<\/a> on his Instagram about how he came to South Africa when he was one year old and attended an Afrikaans medium primary school in \u201ca lekker dorpie known as Somerset West\u201d in Cape Town while growing up.<\/p>\n

Fast forward years later, and on one random day after the gym, MJ caught himself singing Bobbejaan Klim Die Berg<\/em> while shampooing his hair in the shower post-workout.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe you think it’s not a big deal. Guys, I am South Korean. I speak Korean in my household. Like I should be singing Dungulge, but no, me, as a South Korean, was singing Bobbejaan Klim Die Berg So haastig en so lasting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I realised I was singing this, I thought to myself, what the ??,\u201d a confused MJ humorously shared.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Haha! Sorry to break it to you, MJ, but you seem pretty South African to us! We\u2019re a \u201clekker\u201d vibe and you can\u2019t even deny it!<\/p>\n
