Limpopo, South Africa (16 May 2025)<\/em> – So, if you\u2019re up to date with the latest news, you\u2019ll likely have read or heard about the 49 Afrikaners who left South Africa to be\u00a0refugees\u00a0in America this week.<\/p>\n This story isn\u2019t about that. It\u2019s about a few of the many amazing reasons to appreciate our country, the music, its people and the beauty of our diversity. Oh, and our sense of humour, too!<\/p>\n In an entertaining and now trending video, the Ndlovu Youth Choir\u2019s Artistic Director Ralf Schmitt, alongside two singers, is seen having a time as they happily sing a song, hilariously titled Refugee<\/em>.<\/p>\n The song’s fun and witty lyrics, sung by Ralf, tease at him being a refugee while declaring that he will not be leaving South Africa. In his own words, he sings:<\/p>\n \u201cMina, angiyindawo (Me, I\u2019m not going anywhere)<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a refugee from around here, from around here<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNgimgumbaleki, ngingowa la, ngingowa la (I\u2019m a refugee, I\u2019m from here, I\u2019m from here).\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n His backup singers join him with much enthusiasm as their harmonious voices blend together beautifully, expressing their love for South Africa and having absolutely no intentions of leaving.<\/p>\n
